    Situation

Young people with additional needs across Wiltshire and beyond are suffering inside a school network that is overstretched and cannot adequately cope with their behaviour. This results in their actions being frequently punished and the young people finally being excluded from mainstream school. This places additional burdens on all public networks from social care to the criminal justice system when primary school aged children fall out of education their chance of a future falls away too.

    Solution

Gul offers alternative education, an environment where young people facing challenges can engage in education and work with supportive staff in an environment designed for purpose, the outdoors. Being outside allows the young people to feel less pressure, Gul staff work with them and empower them to chose their own educational path, giving them a sense of control over their life that they may lack otherwise. Gul supports young people through transitional periods of their lives using the outdoors
