    Situation

Tramshed operates in an area of South London with significant deprivation (bottom 12% England) and a number of marginalised communities. Support for young people and adults with learning disabilities is often inadequate leading to isolation that affects confidence and creates further barriers to participation. There is a need for a safe community space where people can meet others, engage in activities that increase wellbeing, while also offering signposting to other services when needed.

    Solution

We offer a programme that enables the learning disabled community, both moderate and profound, to engage with the arts from youth to adult life. We respond proactively to our users interests and needs through: Short Breaks for 10-17s including children with life limiting illness (8 days) SHOUT youth theatre for 13-18s REACH - a Theatre Company for young adults (aged 18+) Dramatic Voices - a singing and Drama weekly programme for adults Tramtastic Nights - a regular club night
