For 30 years Magic Me’s exciting, pioneering intergenerational arts projects have been giving young and older people opportunities to meet, create and spend time together, combatting ageism and loneliness. Celebrate with us by supporting our next wave of creative community building in east London.

My arms are tired from waving them around while dancing.
I am a man of 71, who never succeeded at anything – until now!
The work our students achieve with Magic Me is an enrichment in so many ways: artistically, creatively, socially and in the field of human relationships.
When you come we know we are not forgotten.
In busy, crowded east London, younger and older people of many cultural communities can live parallel lives. 1 in 5 people move in or out of Tower Hamlets every year, so getting to know your neighbours can be difficult. Poverty, poor housing and constant redevelopment lead to a sense of dislocation and loneliness. While many people of all ages are keen to connect with others, they lack opportunities and places to meet, or chances to share their talents or learn new skills.
Magic Me works in partnership with individuals and local schools, community centres and care homes to run exciting, creative and arts projects that bring together children or young people with older people 60+. Our activities - from photography to singing, drama to evening cocktail parties - bring together people who would otherwise never meet. All are designed to offer new opportunities, generate friendship and fun, and build relationships across generations and cultures.
