Animal agriculture causes the suffering and deaths of over 56 billion land animals and over a trillion marine animals every year. It’s also a leading cause of deforestation, habitat loss, extinction, water pollution and climate change – releasing more greenhouse gases than the direct fuel emissions from all the world’s transport combined. A 2010 UN report stated that a global shift towards a vegan diet is vital to save the world from hunger, fuel poverty and the worst impacts of climate change.


Veganuary inspires and supports people worldwide to try vegan for January and beyond. Through our month-long vegan pledge programme, we empower people to make a positive difference for animals, the planet and their own health. We provide all the resources and support they need to make the transition, from recipes and meal plans to nutrition advice and much more. And we make it fun too!
