We will be devising a musical with young people who have experienced mental ill- health about the issues that affect them in collaboration with artists and musicians from across the South West.

Situation
Mental health problems affect about 1 in 10 children and young people. Alarmingly, however, 70% of children and young people who experience a mental health problem have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age. Youth provisions have been cut and children with mental health needs are less likely to participate in school-based or other external clubs and more likely to become isolated.
Solution
Many Minds will work alongside schools, councils and mental health services to reach children and young people with mental health needs to engage them in weekly drama workshops where they will be able to express themselves in a safe and inclusive environment and work towards collaborating with others towards making a show. They will have the opportunity to connect with peers, build friendships and learn skills through the arts.
