Brancaster Bursary Appeal

The Brancaster Activity Centre runs educational courses full of activities and life experience for 7 - 11 year olds, teaching them about the coast, wildlife and the environment. Unfortunately not all families have the financial means to pay for the trip and this project aims to address that.

  • 'Without the support and kindness of people such as yourself and others involved in this Bursary Fund these children, from families who are suffering financial hardship, would not have had the opportunity to experience these activities with their classmates. '

Situation

We feel that exposure to physical activity in the real world is an integral part of growing up and that everyone should have the same opportunity to share that with their peers. This scheme aims to ensure that those without the financial means are still able to participate.

Solution

This funding will enable us to offer up to 110 children each year, for 2 years, a bursary to attend the a week-long residential trip at Brancaster Activity Centre with their school where they will participate in outward bound activities such as sailing, kayaking, raft building, coastal safaris, orienteering and cycling.
