All children need a safe place to learn. Currently, Mercy Primary School has two year groups in every classroom. The school urgently needs four more permanent classrooms for its 231 pupils to study in. Help create a safe space so brighter futures can be forged for years to come.

    Situation

In October, Mercy Primary School in Kenya had to pull down five temporary classrooms that were awaiting replacement, after a change in the law meant any school with temporary classrooms would be closed. Thankfully, the school already has five safe classrooms and one new classroom is under construction, but we urgently need to raise funds to build an additional four permanent classrooms, so that the school can remain open and students can continue learning.

    Solution

Your support will improve the infrastructure of Mercy Primary School and ensure the school can remain open. The community are working hard to create brighter futures and break the cycle of poverty for their children, but are living in poverty themselves. They can’t afford the costs of constructing classrooms. Your support will mean hundreds of children every year will be able to receive quality education in a safe environment for years to come.
