We are raising funds to enhance our arts delivery for the young people of Wirral. Funding will enable Wirral Youth Zone to continue to provide a comprehensive performing arts programme. We provide opportunities for young people to take part in music, drama, arts & crafts and dance activity.

    Situation

Birkenhead is in the top 1.5% of deprived areas within the UK. Young people miss out on taking part in activity due to barriers such as cost, facilities and lack of role models. Performing arts can be used as a vehicle to engage young people in positive activity whilst raising aspiration, increasing motivation and developing skills which can be used in all aspects of life. We aim to provide young people with the chance to experience performing arts in a supportive and fully inclusive environment

    Solution

We will solve this problem through the creation and delivery of a high quality, fit for purpose performing arts offer for Wirral's Young people. Young people will get the opportunity and be encouraged to experience music, arts & crafts, dance and drama in our state of the art facility. Young can learn how to play musical instruments, take part in shows and performances and increase their self confidence through arts. We will remove barriers to participation in performing arts for young people.
