When a child suffers a traumatic brain injury, they can lose the ability to walk and talk, and feel hopeless. But music therapy and play activities have a powerful effect. Our teams can help a child with brain injury to reconnect with the world and relearn the skills they’ve lost whilst having fun.

    Situation

Every year over 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury after a serious accident or injury. Families are turned upside down in an instant. We provide expert rehabilitation, education and therapy at our national specialist centre. Children may have been in hospital for a long period, they may have lost some of their skills and abilities and are often anxious and fearful. Specialist play activities and music therapy help these children to make the best possible recovery.

    Solution

Specialist play activities and music therapy help children with brain injury to develop and relearn physical, cognitive, social and emotional skills in a fun and engaging way. Both activities can help children to reach their full potential in rehabilitation and to make the best recovery possible.
