  • Our stay to Ruddi's Retreat was in August 2016 and we had the most amazing time. As a family the previous 6 months had been horrendous. We most definitely wouldn't have been able to get away that summer as I had to give up my job to care for Savannah so we simply wouldn't have been able to afford.

  • Thankyou, thankyou thankyou from every ounce of my heart. She’s loving every single second and every moment with the children. This is absolutely perfect timing for them to enjoy some time together and I wish I could give you the words to say how thankful I am.

When families have a child that is diagnosed with cancer or a life limiting illness there usually follows a drop in income. This is generally because a parent has to give up work or reduce their hours to become the primary carer. Thus meaning that a holiday or break away is generally unobtainable or last on the list of ever growing essentials.

Ruddi's Retreat address the problem by providing a respite break free of charge at one of our beautiful fully accessible static caravans basin in Filey, North Yorkshire. The caravans are kitted out with everything needed for a peaceful and restful stay. The holiday aims to reduce stress and worry for the whole family where they can make memories to last a lifetime. In some cases, the holidays we offer to certain families will be the last time they go away together before a child passes away.
