Trauma: Emotional and psychological scars are not always visible but can have lasting effects, manifesting as insomnia, self-harm, ill-mental health and suicide attempts. Capacity, skillset and funding: With no dedicated funding in place, we have less capacity to deliver therapy or recruit those with specialist knowledge, such as EMDR or Play Therapy, in order to meet specific and complex needs.
Christmas can be a difficult time of year for women and children subjected to domestic abuse, and so access to therapeutic services can be vital. Your donations will enable us to recruit more therapeutic professionals and placements, with specialist knowledge (play therapy, EMDR etc) to support more people and meet specific needs. This service receives no specific funding and so is dependent on donations via this challenge to support therapy over the festive period and throughout 2020.
