    Situation

Uganda often tops the global charts for both youth and entrepreneurship. But this entrepreneurship is enforced, unsupported, and consequently rarely creates systemic change. Almost 30% of young people are engaged in the early stages of setting up and running an enterprise. But, 21% of these go out of business every year, 89% have never accessed entrepreneurship promotion and support programs, and a third of those who had were dissatisfied with them (all statistics from GEM, 2013).

    Solution

We coach promising young Ugandans at the very start of their journeys as social entrepreneurs through a mixture of workshops and one-to-one coaching. Our curriculum is tailored to the Ugandan social venture context, bridging the gap between young entrepreneurs and global best-practice methodologies (such as Human Centered Design, Systems Thinking, Lean Start-up). Ultimately, this all helps entrepreneurs design innovative impact and business models.
