We’re in a climate emergency. Young people are striking because their future is uncertain and their teachers are desperate for support to help equip them with the practical skills they need to tackle our climate crisis. Our online learning programme will meet this need and enable action.

    Situation

Climate change is the biggest global challenge of our generation. Our actions today will determine what our future on this planet looks like. The UK has declared a climate emergency and is committed to zero carbon emissions by 2050. The recent climate strikes show young people are passionate about combatting climate change, but 75% of UK teachers don’t feel equipped to tackle this issue. Our online programme brings the climate crisis into the classroom to educate and provide practical solutions.

    Solution

We will develop an online educational programme which focuses on what climate change is, the key contributors, how individuals behaviour affects it, and how it will affect the way we live in the future. This will give teachers the tools to feel confident to educate their young people and help them to identify simple steps they can take to reduce carbon emissions in their everyday lives. It will help thousands of young people to actively participate in a transition to a low carbon society.
