Snow leopard numbers are in decline. Tragically in Nepal, we believe there could now be as few as 300 snow leopards fighting for their survival. Not only are they being hunted for their precious fur and bones which are used in fashion and traditional medicines; their wild prey is also in decline, competing for grazing land with growing numbers of livestock. Snow leopards are forced to prey on this livestock and are being killed by farmers who are desperate to protect their livelihoods.
