The Charity was set up in 1945 to provide nursing care to soldiers returning from the Second World War with spinal cord injuries. Today the Charity provides a home from home environment to all adults with complex disabilities as a result of Acquired Brain Injury, stokes, spinal cord injury and neurological disabilities such as motor neuron and multiple sclerosis. The current shower rooms are displaying significant damage from the considerable wear and tear they are subjected to.
