Our recently developed Youth Track is a three-session module written and designed for young people, ready for teachers and leaders to deliver in schools and youth groups. Whilst aimed at Key Stage 3, it is adaptable for older teens and would be a valuable asset to any school’s PSHE provision.

    Situation

Recent government targets and OFSTED guidelines for schools have put increasing pressure on providing high quality PSHE teaching and support for their pupils when it comes to mental health, including eating disorders. It is clear that with limited funding and with scarce resources, schools are truly struggling to deliver this well. Meanwhile students, along with their families and friends, continue to suffer.

    Solution

Our Youth Track explores where eating disorders come from, how they manifest in someone's life, and how young people can be supported to reach a place where recovery is possible. It places an emphasis on personal story, and encourages young people to seek appropriate help if they or someone they know is suffering. The Youth Track is relevant to all young people, regardless of their relationship with food. As with all schools material, it is applicable to all cultural and faith backgrounds.
