A series of destructive natural disasters has rocked Southeast Asia this week with a huge humanitarian impact. Tropical Strom Ketsana tore across the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia killing hundreds and displacing thousands of families. Meanwhile, earthquakes in Sumatra have devastated the city of Padang and surrounding areas. As in any emergency children are the hardest hit. They are the most susceptible to disease, their education can become disrupted and many children become seperated from their families. Save the Children is already responding to these emergencies across South East Asia. We need your help to do more.

    Situation

The quicker Save the Children can respond to an emergency, the more children's lives we save. This is why we have created the Children's Emergency Fund. Having some funds in place before an emergency hits means we can respond immediately. But we still need your support now. For example: £500 could provide 32 hygiene kits for vulnerable families at risk of infection. £1,000 could provide 15 families with water jerry cans and tarpaulins, giving shelter to those whose homes have been destroyed. £5,000 could provide 4 education and play kits for schools where equipment and books have been damaged. Your support will save children's lives. Please consider making a gift today. Thank you.
