The British Red Cross has launched an urgent appeal to help those who have been affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan. We are fundraising as part of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), an umbrella organisation of 13 leading UK charities which come together in times of major crisis.

    Situation

    The floods in Pakistan are the worst in living memory and the number of people impacted is growing daily. To date, at least 14 million people have been affected, with nearly 900,000 homes damaged or destroyed. Torrential rain has breached flood defences and caused many rivers to burst their banks leaving tens of thousands of people displaced. Entire communities have been devastated and people desperately need immediate support to access food, water and shelter.
