Every day, around 40 young adults aged 16 to 40 across the UK are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For some, their diagnosis means coming to terms with a shortened life expectancy, for others, long-term treatment and uncertainty enters their lives. Dealing with illness and long-term treatments are particularly devastating for young people who are in the prime of their life, studying, building their careers or raising young families.
Solution
Special Days give a positive focus away from diagnosis and treatment and a chance to be normal. They give young adults, their partners and - often young - families the opportunity to create unforgettable memories regardless of their long-term prognosis. We give happiness and moments of respite in times of pain and anxiety. Willow plans every aspect of a Special Day to the individual wishes of the beneficiary.
