    Situation

    Lishi is facing cuts in its income due to reduced public sector funding on education, volunteering and local authorities. In order to continue to provide the volume of classes and teachers currently in place Lishi needs to grow the number of members who pay a fee each year. A SWOT analysis contributing to a new strategy for Lishi has identified that there is much capacity for new participants in the current timetable of classes but that weaknesses in infrastructure are limiting growth.

    Solution

    Lishi has been working with Leeds Trinity University College to analyse it's needs and to develop a strategy for future sustainability. 3 areas for development have been identified: a) to develop the resources for participants to learn Lishi in a blended
