Why BEST is best -BEST demonstrates a respect for those of other cultures – we are all involved in mission -Local training means training is culturally relevant -Funding goes further since most study partners are training at institutions in their own, or neighbouring countries -Ability to complement existing ways of doing mission. For example, mission partners can suggest study partners to the BEST selection committee who can be trained up to take over from them after they leave -Serving the Church in the most appropriate way may mean selecting someone outside the UK to meet the needs -Lack of funds should not rule out the most suitable candidate
