We are fundraising to help support the redevelopment of the Children's Poetry Archive. The website www.childrenspoetryarchive.org will be redeveloped and content will be expanded to provide children with a fun and interactive learning environment where they can learn about and enjoy poetry.

Situation
Poetry was an oral art form before it became textual.Hearing a poet reading his or her work remains uniquely illuminating. It helps us to understand the work as well as helping us to enjoy it, we believe that children are not exposed to poetry as a listening experience and that this means there is less engagement with poetry as an art form.
Solution
The Children's Poetry Archive will focus on recording children's authors reading their own work, bringing to life the poems and allowing children who don't enjoy reading to engage with poetry. As well as recording contemporary poets reading their own work
