Play is vital for Children in hospital. It helps them stay relaxed and combats boredom, especially during long stays away from home. Birmingham Children's Hospital's 'Let us Play' project will help create modern play rooms across the hospital, where Children will be happy while we make them better.

    Situation

    Feedback from patients shows that our Play facilities are not what they would like them to be. The quality of our play rooms across the hospital varies dramatically; some are very old and do not provide the stimulating environment to help keep children happy. Many play rooms are cramped with poor storage for toys. Their design makes it hard for our Play Facilitators to work effectively with our children. As well as making children better we need to make sure they are as happy as possible.
