We recognise that a wider audience should appreciate and be inspired by the work of Thomas Gainsborough. We will provide a series of activity for children and vulnerable adults who will learn to appreciate art and art history as well as developing knowledge and skills in arts and creativity.

    Situation

Gainsborough is Sudbury’s most famous son yet his art and influence is unknown to many local people. This project will help to break down the barriers to engagement with these audiences particularly younger people and the more vulnerable and excluded members of society, including those with learning difficulties. The workshops will inspire budding artists to experiment and develop their skills

    Solution

We will develop a range of activity that will engage diverse audiences. We will provide through our philosophy of art for everyone, a vibrant learning programme and activities aimed at all ages, background and ability and to develop an outreach programme
