Situation
Our natural world is facing some of its greatest threats ever – over exploitation of natural resources, exploding population growth and of course, climate change. Across the globe, ecosystems are being degraded or destroyed and species are being pushed to the brink of extinction. In the past 150 years, 80% of forests that originally covered the Earth have been cleared, fragmented, or degraded. Half of these forests have been completely lost forever.
