We have opened our new Snowdrop Community Care Centre at St Richard's Hospice. This means we will, through our Home Care team of nurses, Hospice at Home carers and Family Support Team be able to care for more people requiring general palliative care as well as those we already serve.

    Situation

    Calls for our help are ever increasing. Many of us will face cancer or another life-threatening illness and many turn to St Richard’s for expert care and support for body and mind at this difficult time. We will also aim to answer the needs of those in our community who will benefit from general palliative care through our new Snowdrops Community Care Centre. This is in line with the Government's End of Life Care Strategy.

    Solution

    We estimate we will be able to help at least 100 extra patients and 300 more carers and family members in the first year requiring general palliative care. We will also continuie to support our patients needing specialist palliative care - last year we c
