The long history of the Group Areas & Bantu Education Acts has left many South African schools with very poor facilities, a limited curriculum & insufficient training for teachers. Youngsters are exposed to very few cultural experiences, such as music and sport, & to very limited learning of key skills in English & IT. We already offer, for schools in Tyume Valley which wish to take part, English, IT and cultural programmes plus residential study camps but urgently need to expand provision.

To raise the quality of services we need better professional advice & support for local teachers. We have just concluded an agreement with a UK LA to provide additional support, we have volunteers ready to provide help & we have a resource centre. We wi
