It’s a shocking reality that slavery still exists. In fact, there are more people trapped in slavery in the world today than any other time in history. And it’s right here in the UK. National police forces confirm that people are being exploited, many of them British, in every one of our towns and cities. Thousands of people are being forced to work in horrific situations in nails bars, car washes, hospitality, construction sites, agriculture, brothels…generating huge profits for their exploiters.

Unseen established the Modern Slavery Helpline in 2016 to expose this horrifying crime. Every call, no matter what time of day or night, is welcomed by our expert call handlers. Sometimes it takes many calls to establish enough trust so a victim can ask for help. Other times emergency help is activated immediately. Whatever, this vital lifeline is the first step to freedom. And every call provides crucial information about exploiters, helping to inform national strategies to disrupt modern slavery.
