Situation

Major floods hit Pakistan in late July causing huge destruction, loss of life and enormous displacement of people most especially those living in poverty. According to the latest information from the Pakistan government and other sources 16 million people now have been affected by the disaster since its onset. The scale of the disaster is unprecedented in terms of people affected and the long term implications on people’s livelihoods, protection, and quality of life.

Solution

ActionAid Pakistan is currently working with local partners responding in Swat, Swabi, Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Layyah, Mianwali, Bhakkar, and Kot Adu districts. To date we have reached out to over 20,000 people with relief supplies including food packages, household kits, kitchen sets and hygiene kits to help meet immediate needs of those affected.
