CAFOD has launched a £5million appeal in response to the devastating impact of drought in the Horn and East Africa. Failed rains have led to crop failure, serious food and water shortages and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of precious livestock.

Food and water are priority needs. Unless urgent help is received, the drought will lead to suffering on an unprecedented scale. Our aid workers and church partners throughout the region describe the drought as the worst they have ever seen.
Solution
That is why CAFOD is working urgently alongside our local partners, running feeding stations for small children and pregnant mothers, digging wells and building earth dams to preserve water for communities, and distributing drought-resistant seeds to farmers.
