This campaign has now closed

In addition to the current services and prestigious awards offered by the JMK Trust, we now hope to roll out a nationwide hunt for talented young theatre directors via our Direct Access series of open days at major cities throughout the UK during 2011, taking the ethos and practices of the JMK Trust to hundreds of young people and providing access and support to those from all social and ethnic backgrounds.

    Situation

The expanding role and reputation of the JMK Trust has now far outstripped its capacity and resources. History has shown that we have a vital role to play in the landscape of British Theatre (see www.jmktrust.org) but in order to continue our work we urgently need grass-roots financial support. The JMK Trust is a grass-roots initiative. It takes directors in the earliest stages of their careers before they have reached a wider audience and provides them with an invaluable opportunity to learn by doing in a relatively low risk environment. It kick-starts the careers of many young directors who then go on to create ambitious work for much wider audiences. Our alumni all give credit to the Trust for profoundly shaping their careers. Their work can be seen on the small-scale, on tour nationally and in large West End theatres. Please consider our appeal and do get in touch to find out more about our important work. Thankyou.
