    Situation

To promote the aims of the charity and anable us to respond to such needs by covering the costs to the charity that other funding has not been able to cover. Due to change to the charities circumstances. Context: York and District Mind's information line 01904 647349, operates Monday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm. Offering information delivered by people with experience of using mental health services, a friendly service which also helps people to access support earlier. This project's funding was due to end March 2009. We are happy to say the City of York Council's decision to reallocate £9k of grant funding, which we had traditionally received as a core grant, to this project as a contract, has allowed this project to continue. Now since we no longer receive a core grant, our charity needs to raise an additional £9k this year, to maintain our current services, when demand is continuing to rise. This £9k would enable us to maintain services at their current levels, by moving to new premises last year we managed to make a year on year saving of £5k which should of led us to breaking even this year before this change. Last year we also launched additional services thanks to additional funding and a restructuring which increased the service provision for clients by 100% we wish to maintian this level of activity and do not wish to reduce services when demand for our services continues to grow.
