Create+ is an innovative London based community education programme for young people, which explores the artistic and educational potential of creative & media technologies with some projects offering literacy and numeracy training and qualifications.

Situation
Create+ uses experienced artists, tutors and youth workers to facilitate activities that encourage young people to discuss, learn and create their own portfolio of artistic work. Create+ increases young people’s opportunities for work and further education through involvement with pioneering technology, exposure to artists, members of the business community and statutory service providers. Beneficiaries of Create+ finish the programme with a number of positive outputs (incl. experience of project and event management, portfolio of projects to showcase, and working on a project they loved doing). This positive outcome helps to open up a stream of possible career progression routes for young people, including higher education, full-time/part-time employment, and work placements that could be in the field of their interest.
