WaterAid needs to raise £110,968 towards our initial relief effort in Pakistan, following the recent floods.
It ran from 12:00 PM, 1 August 2010 to 12:00 PM, 1 October 2010
WaterAid was already working in some of the affected provinces and so we are in a position to undertake the urgent relief work that is so badly needed. The risk of water-borne diseases is dangerously high and if not addressed properly now will certainly cause further loss of life and inflict suffering on millions of people. We are focusing on the worst affected areas with priority given to orphans, the disabled and widows.
We need to raise £110,968 now so that we can provide safe water, hygiene kits, medical camps and hygiene education to those most in need. We will also assess and rehabilitate water supply schemes to initiate the long road to recovery for these communities.
