“The fact is that of the 100 crop species that provide 90 per cent of the world’s food, over 70 are pollinated by bees.”- UN report. Many domestic and imported fruits & vegetables require pollination. Examples include avocados, soy beans, asparagus, broccoli, celery, squash, and sunflowers for oil, cucumbers, citrus fruit, peaches, kiwis, cherries, cranberries & melons. Around 80% of UK crops are said to be dependent on honey bees. Lose THE honey bee and what we would eat – answer - DRY TOAST.

Our way to move forward is to create a honey bee rehabilitation centre where data collection, analysis, research & development can be carried out – with a willingness to share and disseminate information and findings, without major industrialists and chemical conglomerates interfering and directing the trials. The centre must be totally organic and free from pesticides/herbicides and where bee hives can be managed organically with honey bee survival as the ultimate aim and hive products a bonus.
