Research, carried out by Broadway, captured the number of Scots coming into contact with street outreach teams in Westminster, the City of London and Camden. The results provided a valuable insight into the actual numbers and support needs of these individuals, and confirmed that the majority of our clients are found within the Westminster area. Most importantly, it confirmed that a significant proportion of our clients are amongst some of the most entrenched rough sleepers in London.
Borderline developed the post of Scottish Outreach Worker to be based at the Connection at St Martin in the Fields. The partnership provides the Connection with additional staff resources to work in a more innovative way with Scots, and enables Borderline to reach some of the most vulnerable homeless Scots in London. The Scottish Outreach Worker operates directly with Scots who are rough sleeping, identifying their support needs to help them take the first steps towards rebuilding their lives.
