Situation

All of the children/young people living in the refuges have suffered emotional abuse and witnessed domestic violence. Coming to the refuge is very traumatic for both children/young people and their parents/carers. They have had to leave their familiar surroundings, friends/family and most of their belongings behind. Currently in Croydon there is no specialist domestic violence service for these children/young people and the ones suffering in the community in silence.

Solution

CWA will provide easily accessible, non judgemental, empowering and dedicated service to children/young people aged 7-18 who have witnessed/experience violence and harm. CWA will offer one-to-one support and group sessions for the young people fleeing domestic abuse living in our safe houses or accessing outreach service.
