NYOS Staffa Awards May 28th 2009, Edinburgh

The NYOS Staffa Award recognises the talent of the UK’s most promising young musicians. Three students from the UK’s music conservatoires are selected by audition in London to attend the Final Awards Performance, where adjudicators award the most outstanding student a financial prize to assist them in furthering their career in music performance. Those laureates placed second and third will also receive financial prizes though on a smaller scale.

This year’s Final Awards Performance will take place on Thursday 28 May 2009, in the impressive and atmospheric surrounds of Freemasons’ Hall, Edinburgh. The event offers a unique opportunity to experience performances from four future stars of classical music, as the three Staffa Award Finalists perform a repertoire of their choice, followed by a performance by the 2008 Staffa Award Winner, flautist Fiona Paterson.
