    Situation

Faith in Maintenance is a unique project that aims to provide training and support for the thousands of volunteers in England and Wales who help to maintain our historic places of worship. This highly regarded project has been running for two years and we are now seeking funds to build upon this success and continue our work for a further three years. One of the key aspects of the scheme is that the training courses are free and are available to groups from all faiths that use a historic building for their worship. All participants in the project receive: * A full day of training which aims to teach volunteers how to recognise potential problems, tackle common maintenance tasks, understand professional reports and make use of expert help. Participants also have the opportunity to put their questions to a team of building specialists and share their experiences with other volunteers. * Access to our dedicated telephone helpline service. * A free copy of our handbook (The Good Maintenance Guide) and our maintenance calendar. * Access to the project website which contains guidance on maintenance issues, sources of further advice, case studies and an online maintenance forum. * The opportunity to sign up to our free monthly email bulletin service.
