To provide community based home support to Carers and patients with palliative and life threatening illnesses which allows patients to stay in their own homes should they so choose and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions so the carer is afforded a much-needed break or complete night’s rest safe in the knowledge that their loved one is in safe hands.

Bexley Crossroads can relieve some of the stress and anxiety experienced by people who are caring all the time and prevent some of the pressures, which could ultimately stop people from being able to be cared for at home. We are user led and provide a flexible approach that is convenient to the Carer and the patient To provide specialist respite care to patients with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, within the London Borough of Bexley. The aim is to provide social care support in the day, evening and overnight within the patient’s home, allowing the carer a much-needed break Our aim is to reduce the burden of care to relatives/carers in order to enhance quality of life for patients and avoid unnecessary admission to hospital. We will also provide both emergency cover and short-term commitment to patients, thereby helping relatives/carers plan care and achieve adequate rest periods to enable them to continue in their caring role.
