Sight Concern Bedfordshire currently has 2 resource centres in Luton and Bedford town centres, where we can demonstrate and sell devices which will assist blind and visually impaired people with day to day living. We aim to provide an equipped Resource Bus to reach all of our clients in their home

    Situation

Visually impaired people have greater difficulty finding their way to new venues and they made need to visit us several times over the years as their sight deteriorates and they need further levels of support. We are trying to provide better access to resources for all of our clients, regardless of whether they live in a town or rural village. UPDATE DECEMBER 2010: £11,350 raised so far towards purchase of vehicle. PLEASE HELP US TO GET MOBILE.

    Solution

A fully equipped resource bus would reach out into every part of the County and provide the same level of support for all of our clients wherever they live. Clients would be able to see and try products before ordering them and be guided with adaptable IT packages designed specifically for the visually impaired.
