It's a simple project, but one that can only happen with support... it has been estimated that there are 3,000 homeless people on the doorstep of our flagship Centre. We want to offer a home, training opportunities and a future to as many of these people as possible, but we need to furnish the bedrooms, so they can seize this opportunity.

    Situation

Twenty-four-year-old Alan came to be a Resident at Recycling Lives after he and his mother were evicted from a flat they shared. Alan, who had also split from his girlfriend struggled to find anywhere else to stay or anywhere to see his 17-month-old son and had to face the reality of being homeless. Alan decided to refer himself to Recycling Lives in a bid to turn his life around and in the hunt for work and a home. Within just six months of being at Recycling Lives, he received the good news he had been waiting for and was offered a full time position with one of the Recycling Lives Corporate Partners. Alan walks with a confident air about him that stems from real self belief and self esteem. He embodies the real impact that Recycling Lives makes on the life of a real person. We want to help more people like Alan. We would like to furnish the final 10 bedrooms in our purpose built centre. This means we will be able to house, train and secure employment for approximately 20 more people each year. We have already seen our Residents move from rough sleeping, to full time employment, from claiming benefits to paying tax. Our Residents are normal people that have just had bad luck and need help and support to change their future. You could provide that future for others like Alan...
