    Situation

We are seeking funding for a new website and digital strategy for Photoworks. As an agency without its own public space, we see the website as the primary platform for our educational offer. We want to create the best online space for those interested in making, talking and thinking about photography. Specifically, the site will encourage visual literacy in the young by offering a resource area for teachers and schools; provide a career development toolkit for recent photography graduates and a professional development area to nurture emerging photographers, with a showcase of the best new photographic work and a media channel to offer artists’ talks, interviews and exhibition tours. Photoworks has access to a unique range of talent and expertise in the field of fine art photography and we want to share this with the widest possible audience. In doing so, we aim to become a more audience-focused organisation, responsive to the needs of our audience, and engaged in direct dialogue with them, fostering a sense of community amongst core supporters. At the same time, a new website provides us with income generation opportunities, making this project sustainable in the future. We are seeking funds for the rebuild costs of the site (15K), marketing the site (4K) and specially commissioned content (6K).
