    Situation

This year more than 1000 children will turn to Make-A-Wish to have their magical wish granted. To grant these wishes we need to raise more than £5m. A wish can be anything within a child’s imagination, from wishing to own the latest computer equipment or a home cinema system, to meeting their idol or having Batman attend their birthday party. Whatever a child’s wish, at Make-A-Wish we ensure that all immediate family members are included in the special day or trip. These two factors mean that the real cost of our wishes can be anything from a few hundred pounds to upwards of £10,000! The average cost of a wish though is £4,000 and we are looking for individual sponsors to help us fund these magical wishes. Our wishes can transform the lives of the children with whom we work. Every day, seriously ill children come to Make-A-Wish asking for their true wish to be granted; and every day, we hear back from children and their families, telling us about the great impact their wish has had. Whether it’s a mother talking about seeing her daughter smile “for the first time since she was diagnosed”, a wish child saying that we’d given him “the greatest day of my life” or another parent telling us how their child had “slept through the night for the first time in their life” after their wish was granted, we know that our wishes have a truly extraordinary impact. Become a wish sponsor and help us to grant these moments of magic.
