    Situation

The project will help young people with learning disabilities develop the life skills needed to live active and fulfilling independent lives. The project will deliver training sessions in life skills, independent living skills, literacy and vocational training, tailored to the individual trainee’s need. The programme will be structured with targeted learning outcomes to help people progress with an ultimate goal of living a more independent life. The project will offer meaningful activities including art, drama, crafts and horticultural work. Young people with learning disabilities often find it difficult to express themselves and can become disengaged from society. The project will also encourage healthy eating, healthy exercise and enhance self esteem and helping young people with learning disabilities to fulfil their potential and re-engage with society during their transition into adult life.
