    Situation

The Building Plot is a flagship project to create a building entirely from used and reclaimed materials; to create opportunities for jobs and enterprise through practical training and which will promote the concept of ‘waste as a resource’ and build capacity and knowledge within the recycling and re-use sectors. The model is designed to be exponentially replicable and so provide genuine opportunities for enterprise and mainstream commercial success; generating jobs, income and investment. TheBuilding Plot is based on the premise that waste + innovative design + training can equate to new products and new skills with added value and the opportunity for new and sustainable enterprise. The Building Plot will tackle current issues of great significance to the built environment at this time including but not exclusively: waste and waste management, product innovation and practical skills training. The project will be implemented by Architecture Sans Frontières-UK. It will be piloted in Cornwall initially, on a site donated by Eden, within the grounds of the Eden Park. The programme will include a long term strategy for the replication of this model on sites across the country in conjunction with strategic partners.
