The charity receives more referrals than it can meet every year due to a lack of staff hours to expand our caseload. It costs approximately £1500 a year to support one family because of the rural nature of East Lindsey as staff and volunteers spend twice as long travelling to and from families than a scheme in an urban area. By offering families volunteer support where they need it, in their own homes, we aim to reduce isolation, increase parent confidences and resilience in children. Volunteers are given training opportunities to enhance their emplyability or a route back to further education. Our aim is to recruit a full time staff member to support another 30-35 families a year and recruit and train 18-20 volunteers.
