Many children in Colombia are living in very vulnerable situations. Children living in the most disadvantaged communities are particularly exposed and unable to find sources of support. These children and young people need to have access to services that can help them, and also to know that someone is there to listen and support them. A child helpline can be the first point of contact in such situations.

Corpolatin was started in Cali in 2003. The services provided by Corpolatin range from active listening to a child or person who calls in need of advice; to intervening with direct assistance in removing a child from a dangerous situation. In all scenarios, children need to know they are not alone, that someone cares for them, that their lives can be free from pain and fear.
