AV Festival 10 will take place from 5 – 14 March 2010. The festival will be based around the theme of Energy as a universal concept across art, science, technology and society. This theme will be explored through an exciting and innovative programme of music, visual art, moving image and educational workshops that will entertain, stimulate and provoke discussion. We are seeking a total of £90,000 to enable us to deliver an exceptional international festival that will engage audiences of all kinds, act as a forum for artistic debate and encourage discussion of issues relating to Energy, including renewable energy.

The programme will open with a new commission by the American minimalist composer Charlemagne Palestine and will also include Music, Machine, Motion – a major exhibition based on sound and natural energy, showing new work by Felix Hess, Alec Finlay, Rhodri Davies and others. We will also be launching a ground-breaking, artist-led education project that will aim to empower community groups by showing them how to use free media to create their own projects and exchange ideas with groups in other countries.
