The Peres Center facilitates capacity-building programs and vocational training courses to provide additional skills and know-how to specific business sectors, allowing the participants to better understand the present business environment and to improve the level of their operations within such atmosphere. As a result of the gap between the economies of the region, which has been exacerbated due to the ongoing conflict, the Peres Center is presently focusing on providing the Palestinian private sector with capacity-building and vocational training programs, with a view to assisting the participants in conducting more efficient trade, both locally and internationally. The capacity-building and vocational training programs are delivered by Israeli experts in the relevant field, encouraging an institutionalization of working relations between Israeli and Palestinian business associations, export institutes and more. Additionally, the Peres Center is promoting the establishment of Palestinian business associations that will serve the local business communities, especially in regard to their trading with Israeli partners. The funds raised on The Big Give site will be used towards the 2009 – 2010 cycle of the project.
